OOTD: Dental Day {May 12th 2015}

Okay so today was actually a really boring day. The only event on my calendar was a trip to my dentist. My feelings go against the popular opinion that the dentist is horrible. I honestly like the dentist soz not soz. Anyway I actually put on an outfit that was actually blog worthy so duh I had to blog about it.

OOTD: Street Fair Festivities {April 12th 2015}

This is just a little OOTD of what I wore yesterday. The annual Azalea Festival was this past weekend (no, it's not for Iggy) and this is what I wore on Sunday while walking around and volunteering.

March Favorites

Hey guys!

These are my favorites for the month of March.

March Favorites 

Firstly these slip-ons. Now I don't own these (sadly) but I am thirsting for a pair. They're so versatile and would be great for summer! Just with a pair of shorts, shift dress or a cute pair of ripped boyfriend jeans. 

Next we have is Mary Kay Liquid Lip color in Malted. Its an amazing everyday lip color and it still has a little sparkle in an opaque color. I use this on an everyday basis and I recommend this for anyone who wants a more nude or everyday lip color!

THESE ARE MY LIFE. Okay sorry, this is my favorite purchase in the past few weeks. I got these Silence + Noise platforms from Urban Outfitters and I've been waiting for the perfect time to bust these puppies out. The days have been relatively warm but I haven't had a proper night out in a while where I could dress these. I've been waiting for it and I think that in the next two weeks or so. So... be looking for that! :)

Lastly, the EMPIRE SOUNDTRACK. Which is my freaking jam. The show Empire has been on FOX for the last few months and I'm obsessed with the soundtrack. Jussie Smollett, Yazz, and Sereyah are some of my favorite artists off of this soundtrack and the show. It features Jennifer Hudson, Juicy J, Mary J. Blige, and more heavy hitters. It has a strong R&B and hip hop feel so if you're into that I strongly suggest checking out this soundtrack and show.

Friends (nah, not the TV show): 10 March 2015

"Friends are the family that we choose for ourselves." -Unknown

Friends are influential people in my life and if I'm right probably yours too. Over the weekend one of my best friends drove down from Virginia to see his family here, some of my other friends, and myself. Now he's done this before but this time it really felt different, in the best way possible.

It really made me value the friends I have.

My parents are good for saying, "Kynn, you have a ton of friends."

Nah, not really. I have a lot of people that I know and I would call them "friends".

Yet when I think of my friends... its the ones that I tell everything too, click instantaneously with them, call them out when they're doing something stupid and vice versa.

You might be thinking, "Those are you just your best friends,"

As I've gotten older though I've stopped using the term "best friends" because in the last couple of years I've had several best friends and we're not that anymore. Not because of us falling out or anything but just because over time we've just grown apart and there is a different dynamic.

With that being said I'd like to dedicate this post to all my wonderful friends. Whether we're as close as we were before or not, I still love you.

Febuary Faves

Yes, yes. Once again we have Monthly Faves so lets just jump right in, shall we?

Feb. Faves 

Okay firstly we have Mary Kay 2-in-1 Wash and Shave and its companion the Hydration Lotion. This is my holy grail body wash and lotion. My skin is always so smooth after I use it as soon as I get out the shower then I use the lotion and I'm good! They don't really have scent, they have a really faint sweet type smell but nothing to crazy. It surely won't hit you in the face like when you walk into Bath and Body Works. I would seriously recommend this to anyone looking for something to implement into your routine.

Anther Mary Kay product has made it into the count and thats the Forever Orchid Sugar Scrub. I am obsessed with this stuff. It's an amazing for exfoliating and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Some scrubs can leave your skin dry but this is the complete opposite which is great because I have relatively dry skin.

This next app I have actually become addicted to called 5SGIF and it records a 5 second video and turns it into a gif. I'm obsessed. I found it through Aly Silverio's blog  (which I'm also lowekey obsessed with as well). 

Now we have natural shea butter. This stuff has been doing wonders for my skin, okay? Traditionally my skin can become really dry and therefore this has really helped with keeping my skin moisturized in the cold February that we've been having.  I would really recommend this to anyone seeing as it has really helped my skin for the better.

Now lastly the Julep nail varnishes I've been loving. I have black, red, and purple and I can honestly say that they are my recent favorites. They have a long wearing because of such good quality and I don't even use a base or top coat. I loveeeee

BUT CAN WE PLEASE DISCUSS QUEEN TAYLOR? She killed the entire red carpet in one of my favorite colors in the world, the skirt fades into a subtle ombré and is such a unique dress in the first place from the straps to the hem line. And her heels... The fushia. I lived Taylor's look.

January Favorites

Hi guys! Here's another monthly favorites!

Yes,  I did skip a December because I did a Welcome to 2015 post! Oops, kinda?

But now I'm back on the bandwagon so we're okay. 

January Favorites

Firstly, we have the skinny Flirt Jean from Old Navy. Now people in general sleep in Old Navy, why? I don't know. Do I buy my entire wardrobe from there? Not all. Yet one thing I've always known Old Navy to be good for is their jeans. Everyone has those jeans that aren't that comfortable but we just go with it because their cute and go with everything. Not these my friend. They're comfortable, tight, and extremely cute to go along with it. Hands down my favorite new pair of jeans.

We have Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter Reconstructive Finishing Elixir. Since I got my braids last month I've been trying to keep my natural hair and the extensions looking their best. Frizz can be a problem with these braids a lot of the time. So before I go to bed and when I wake up I use this product. It conditions while fighting frizz and adds shine. I'm in love with and will definitely be using this later on.

Now I know someone later is going to ask me, "Oh my gosh when did you get dreads?!" Ya girl didn't. This product is originally used for dread locks and keeping them moisturized but can also double as something else. Since the way my braids are done, my scalp is always out. Lowkey kinda gross or maybe not. But I don't want my scalp to be extremely dry and such especially if its going to be exposed all the time thats where this product comes in. It is perfect, for making sure my roots and scalp are moisturized. I use this every night as well in between all of my parts to ensure I get it all over my head so I'll be okay the next morning when I need to run out and get going.

HTGAWM. Don't even play this is my freaking show. This is honestly one of the action packed shows on television right now and this is only the first show. It came back on last Thursday, I was probably shaking like a wet puppy the whole time from the adrenaline but this is one of my shows that I would recommend to everyone. From the plot to the amazing actors including the wonderful Viola Davis from the Help and Jack Falahee from Twisted. This show stuns and will surely be up for more awards soon.

SCANDAL. Please, this is my show too. Olivia Pope is just the epitome of getting ish done. Plus shes in the biggest, dramatic love triangle of all time. I can't lie and say I'm not #TeamJake... I mean have you seen Scott Foley. Anyway this show came back Thursday as well and my heart was pumping as rapidly as it probably could have, if I'm honest. Kerry Washington plays every part she's in to the fullest extent and I just love her and this entire show.
