June Favorites

Its time for another favorites post, whoop whoop.

I missed May which I am super-duper sorry about, I just didn't have the time put together a good blog post for my people. I never want to give you guys any posts that just seem thrown together rushed.

Okay?
Okay.

See that's where I should have insert the cheesy Fault in Out Stars gif.

Anyway lets get right on into the favorites.
June Favorites

First Kimonos. I've seen these everywhere but they can be so expensive. I've been trying to locate cheaper ones but I've been seeming to have some trouble find inexpensive ones. I actually could DIY one; LaurDIY did a tutorial on how to make kimonos here. Anyway I really like them because they can make a really plain outfit pop. Like below:

June Favorites: Kimonos

Anyway kimonos are really in for summer and I've been dying to get or make one. If I do, I'll definitely post about it for you guys because you are my people and I love you :)

Secondly, I have Connor Franta.
*insert heart-eyed emoji here because his eyes give me life*
Thats beside the point though, Connor is a YouTuber based out of LA and he is in the group O2L. I don't watch the O2L videos but I've just recently started watching Connor because he does collabs with a lot of my favorite non-beauty YouTubers. Connor is the definition of hilarious, his videos never fail to make me laugh. He post videos weekly on 'Fran-tastic Mondays' (sure its a little corny but hey who cares his videos are wonderful). You all should go check him out and subscribe, you won't regret it!

Next the Nike Janoski's. Even though these shoes came out in 2010 I've been wanting some for a few months now. They remind me of Vans a bit but I like the fact that they're a little different. I don't know... I just really want some.

Now we have asymmetric skirts. When I was first introduced to these, they were actually skorts. I know skorts... They sound like those things you wore in 2nd grade and don't want to relive again yet now they are super stylish and adorable with the asymmetric front.

Lastly, we have The Fault in Our Stars. Now I am in love with this book and movie. Basic sounding I know. It is honestly one of the best books I've ever read and the movie was a very good adaptation of the book. I read the book in December in 2 days.
2.
I read pretty fast but even still.
Two parts were missing and they did not at all break the film adaptation. I cried for the last 15 minutes leading up to the last 5 minutes. I don't know it was amazing and I'm a cry baby so yeah. I highly recommend reading the book and seeing the movie

Alrighty guys! Thats it for the favorites from this month! If you all liked these comment it below :)

Style Inspiration: Leigh-Anne Pinnock

Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

Gracious, where do I start?

Okay well Leigh-Anne, 22 years old, is 1/4 of British girl group, Little Mix,  with other memebers Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirwall.

Leigh has always been my favorite member of Little Mix (besides her voice because I mean duh, thats amazing too) because of her amazing sense of style. In this blog post I'll show case some of my favorite looks from Leigh-Anne.

Ugh J's J's J's. *le dies*

Can I be you please or is that not allowed?

I mean really? Just look at her.

Online Shopping

Online shopping is one of my favorite things.

It actually is an amazing pass time.

Then when you buy it and it ships to you its like a little gift to yourself.

I don't know, that's just one of the reasons it appeals to me.

Today I'm going to talk about some of my favorite online shops.

ASOS: I am in love with ASOS. Its like a one-stop shop. You can find everything on ASOS. From a more formal dress to the most casual sandals to wear to the beach. They sell womens and mens clothes and accessories. In addition they also include petite, maternity, and curvy lines! They always have amazing sales and I seem to find something new every time I check the website. Okay who am I kidding? I don't use the website. I use the app :)

H&M: Although a lot of malls have H&M we don't in my city so I always check what H&M has to offer. They have a large variety of clothing styles which can be awesome for someone who has really versatile style choices such as myself. Say if I really want a graphic tee I'll head straight to H&M's mens section where I can snatch up a ton of oversized tee's. Its much more affordable than trying to buy them from the womens section. Despite that being the case their 'Basics' section is probably one of my favorite parts of the online shop, pieces that go with everything and that's perfect.

Topshop: Topshop was actually the first place that I ever bought anything online from. They're a British based clothing brand and there are only two in the United States, LA and New York, neither of which I live near. So online is the only way I can get it. I don't know how I'd describe Topshop... it can be extremely posh depending on what you're buying but their products are good quality. They can be really expensive depending on what you're buying but I normally only buy when they have killer sales because 99% of the time I am broke so... yeah. Despite that as I said their clothes are really good quality and they even have a brother store, TOPMAN, if you needed some menswear.

Lovely Wholesale: This store I've actually found out about more recently from a DIY/beauty Youtuber and blogger that I love, LaurDIY, and the name is exactly what it is. Its clothing that's extremely inexpensive and a lot of it really cute and adorable. They have swimsuits, shoes, mens, anything you can find. I just love that because as previously stated I'm broke 99% of the time.

Okay so that's all for today! I hope you guys like this and drop in the comments below some of your favorite online stores/ shops! Thanks for reading!

#JAWBREAKING

Bam!

I don't know maybe it's just me but every time I think of Jawbreaking I think of a fight.

*maybe because someone's jaw could break in a fight... I just...*

Okay sorry guys for my utter weirdness, but today I'm going to be talking about the wonderful independent clothing brand: Jawbreaking.

If you don't know about Jawbreaking, you're missing out but you should already know about them because one of their shirts was in my April Favorites, duh.

You already knew that though so let's move on.

Jawbreaking as stated is an independent clothing brand based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. It was founded by 21 year old Aly Silverio in 2008 at the age of 15.

15.

Does that mean I should be building my own empire by now? Probably.

Anyways, instead of decided to go find a real job Aly took the idea of making jewelry, that summer she started in her bedroom and by the end of that summer she had no other plans than to ensure that Jawbreaking went big.

Now Jawbreaking is smashing the game and the inspiration as said by Aly is just from 'LIFE.'

And we all live right?

Jawbreaking is now sold in stores all across the United States, worn by celebrities around the world , and has become extremely prominent in the world of social media.

I personally would describe Jawbreaking as girly grunge. That probably sounds stupid I know but they have some items that are grunge-y such as:

Wannabes Will Never Be
I'm Over It

Drama Queen

Sold My Soul

Wanderer

Yet they have flowy, more girly pieces as well:

Cookie Phases

Pineapple Vibes

Left My Heart in Paris
Dreamchaser
LA X NY
These are some of my personal favorites. Jawbreaking had a sample sale in May and I totally should have taken pictures and such but I didn't, but my Jawbreaking collection includes:

No Scrubs Allowed
University of Life (discontinued, sorry)
Will Work For Shoes
Peace, Love, and Happiness
Jawbreaking Logo Shorts (discontinued as well)
and Work Hard, Sleep Harder.

Since this post should now have you at least partially curious about Jawbreaking, I'll put the links below...

Style Inspiration: Kylie Jenner

So Kardashians.

Everybody know who they are right?

Of course though everyone has their own opinions. I personally like the Kardashians, some of the things they do or say might not be the best but everyone has those moments.

Anyway today I'm not even technically talking about a Kardashians. I'm talking about a Jenner.

Kylie, to be exact.

Kylie is only 16 years old but she is probably the most fashionable 16 year old I've ever seen in my life. Although sometimes it can add age (not in a bad way; she just looks really mature).

Here are some of my favorite looks from Kylie:

I mean even though she was modeling in this one they were hers technically because it was she and Kendall's clothing brand. Okay back to the pictures.

She looks amazing in nude colors, just saying.

These are some of my favorite looks from Kylie! If you love her style or any of her sisters let me know!

Lunch Date with My Madre (June 5th 2014)

Today was the last day of my exams and I couldn't be happier.

I'm a little sad too but that's not important. We went to a little small pub in historic downtown to celebrate and I just thought I'd share it with you all.

The top was my meal: I had beer battered honey chipotle chicken strips with a side of sweet potato fries. In the smaller cups are ranch dressing for dipping and cole slaw as a little side.

My mom's was at the bottom: she decided to be healthy. I probably should have too but oh well. She had a spring salad garnished with leeks and lemons. She had it topped with a piece of grilled salmon and a red sauce for a little extra flavor.

So as for clothes since I had a half-day of school because of exams I wanted to be comfortable but not seem too bummy.

Shorts: Old Navy
Sandals: Belks
Sunglasses: Charlotte Russe
Purse: Nine West (Retailer: Wilson's Leather)

Here are some are the up close details:

Well guys this was just a little quick blog post, I hope you guys like it and leave it in the comments if you do!

Thanks so much for reading!
